About Us
Kensington Elementary is located in Waxhaw, NC, and serves more than 800 students in kindergarten through fifth. We offer Mandarin and Spanish dual language immersion programs. Mandarin immersion is offered in grade five and all core content is taught in Mandarin with English introduced in kindergarten. Spanish immersion begins in kindergarten (lottery process) and English is introduced in the second grade. At Kensington, we work on growing the whole child. We want our students to be effective communicators, resilient problem solvers, a key contributor, an innovative leader and a skilled collaborator.
